Can loratadine tablets be used for pharyngitis?
Disease description:
I've had pharyngitis for a while, but I'm not sure what medication to use. Can loratadine tablets be used for pharyngitis?
If chronic pharyngitis is caused by allergies, taking loratadine tablets can be appropriate. Under a doctor's guidance, patients may effectively relieve symptoms of pharyngitis. However, if chronic pharyngitis results from bacterial or viral infections, this medication is not suitable, as it cannot eliminate the pathogenic microorganisms and thus offers no beneficial effect on treating the disease. Patients should pay attention to their daily diet, avoid spicy and irritating foods, quit smoking and alcohol, follow medical advice when taking medications, and must never take drugs blindly on their own.
