Can hysteroscopic surgery be performed during menstruation?

We previously agreed that I would have the hysteroscopy this week, but my period has started. I'd like to ask, is it possible to have a hysteroscopy during menstruation?

Menstruation is not an appropriate time to perform hysteroscopy. Usually, during this period the endometrium is in the proliferative phase; early on, the endometrium is thin, less prone to bleeding, with reduced mucus secretion, and intrauterine lesions are more clearly visible. Hysteroscopic surgery can rapidly control bleeding and help identify the cause of bleeding. Therefore, during curettage, the endometrial tissue should be sent for pathological examination to rule out organic lesions.
