Dr. Mei Quan
Anteverted and retroverted uterus generally differ in terms of position and symptoms. In many patients, an anteverted uterus refers to the forward positioning of the uterus, with the cervix located lower, while a retroverted uterus has the cervix positioned higher. Symptoms of uterine muscle issues are usually not obvious and thus difficult to detect. A common symptom of a retroverted uterus is dull backache caused by pressure from the posterior side of the uterus. Patients with an anteverted uterus have a higher chance of becoming pregnant, as this position facilitates sperm entry into the uterine cavity, promotes sperm-egg union, and makes conception easier.
