Testicular and spermatic cord pain may be caused by either funiculitis or varicocele. Referred pain from other conditions can also affect the spermatic cord area. Common clinical diseases such as prostatitis and orchitis require prompt visit to the urology department of a hospital for examination of prostatic fluid and prostate ultrasound to confirm the specific type of inflammation and determine appropriate treatment measures. Spermatic cord pain can affect a man's normal sexual activity; however, sexual activity is still needed during treatment, as prolonged abstinence may also negatively impact recovery.
