Testicular and lower abdominal pain during sexual arousal occurs because organs related to sexual activity become excited following sexual stimulation. This sexual excitement maintains penile erection, and after sexual activity ends, blood returns from the genital area to the abdominal cavity, relieving pressure. As a result, discomfort such as testicular and lower abdominal pain naturally subsides. However, persistent pain might be caused by chronic nonbacterial prostatitis. A prostate examination can help confirm the diagnosis, and if prostatitis is identified, antibiotic treatment may be required.
