What are the symptoms of liver and kidney yin deficiency?
Disease description:
I don't know what's going on lately, but I've been experiencing night sweats and nocturnal emissions frequently. A traditional Chinese medicine practitioner diagnosed me with liver and kidney yin deficiency. What are the symptoms of liver and kidney yin deficiency?
Liver and kidney yin deficiency may lead to symptoms such as pain and deficient heat. When kidney yin is deficient, the waist and knees cannot be properly nourished, resulting in soreness and pain in the lower back and knees. Low back pain specifically arises from dual deficiency of the liver and kidneys, with insufficiency of liver meridian qi and diminished liver qi. Deficient heat manifests as feverish sensations in the five centers (palms, soles, and chest), dry mouth and throat, night sweats, a red tongue with little coating, and a fine, rapid pulse. When both the liver and kidneys are deficient, essence and qi become insufficient, potentially leading to nocturnal emissions in men and reduced menstrual flow in women.
