Can malignant tumors of the uterus and ovaries metastasize?
Disease description:
Feeling unwell, diagnosed with malignant tumor of the uterus and ovaries. Can malignant tumors of the uterus and ovaries metastasize?
Malignant tumors of the uterus and ovaries can metastasize. In the early stages, uterine malignancies may spread to the cervical canal, ovaries, fallopian tubes, and pelvic cavity. In middle to late stages, lymphatic metastasis can occur, potentially involving pelvic and para-aortic lymph nodes. In advanced stages, hematogenous dissemination may affect organs such as the lungs, liver, and kidneys. Treatment typically involves a combination of surgery and chemotherapy; radiotherapy should also be administered for tumors that are sensitive to radiation.
