Chest pressure and pain may be a symptom of pleuritis, an inflammatory condition occurring in the pleural cavity. During an episode, patients may experience difficulty breathing, chest tightness, and tenderness in the chest area, with pain becoming particularly noticeable during coughing. On the other hand, this symptom could also be related to lung tumors. Lung tumors mainly present as cough, sputum production, and precordial pain; some patients may also feel tenderness or pressure in the chest.
