Last week, after I went to the hospital for chemotherapy, I clearly noticed my nails gradually turning black. What could be causing this?

After chemotherapy, black discoloration of the nails may occur due to damage to the surrounding nerves and local blood circulation caused by chemotherapeutic agents. In such cases, not only may the nails turn black, but additional adverse conditions such as skin erosion, bleeding, and nail fissures in the affected area might also develop. Once systemic adverse reactions occur, it is recommended to discontinue chemotherapy promptly to prevent worsening of symptoms.
