Which is better: chorionic villus sampling or amniocentesis?
Disease description:
After becoming pregnant, I went to the hospital to check whether the fetus has congenital diseases. I would like to know which is better between chorionic villus sampling and amniocentesis?
There is no distinction between "good" and "bad" regarding chorionic villus sampling and amniocentesis. Chorionic villus sampling involves a puncture procedure performed on the placenta, in which a needle passes through the pregnant woman's abdominal wall and into the uterine cavity to aspirate a small amount of chorionic villi for examination. Amniocentesis involves collecting amniotic fluid from the uterine cavity via an abdominal puncture, culturing the amniotic fluid cells, harvesting these cells, and then performing subsequent culture and analysis.
