Liver fire stagnation can trigger hypertension. In traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) theory, hypertension falls within the category of dizziness (xuán yūn). It commonly occurs in patients whose work or life experiences setbacks, prolonged emotional depression, or mood fluctuations, leading to impaired liver function in regulating qi flow, resulting in stagnation of liver qi and transformation into fire. This upward disturbance of liver fire disrupts the head, impairs the rising of clear yang, and causes unfavorable conditions in the upper body, thereby manifesting symptoms of hypertension. The main symptoms include dizziness, headache, tinnitus, bitter taste in the mouth, dry throat, insomnia, and vivid dreams.
