Dr. Zhang Lei
After tooth extraction, symptoms such as local redness, swelling, heat, and pain may occur. In severe cases, the infection may spread to the fascial spaces of the jaw and face, causing facial swelling, skin erythema, and limited mouth opening. If inflammation is not effectively controlled or if the patient has low immunity, an abscess may develop in the affected area. Local cold compresses can be applied within 24 hours after extraction, followed by warm compresses after 24 hours, along with systemic anti-inflammatory treatment.
