What to do about ligament soft tissue injury
Disease description:
I accidentally injured my foot while playing soccer at school, and it's still painful after four weeks. The preliminary diagnosis is ligament and soft tissue injury. What should I do for ligament and soft tissue injuries?
For ligament and soft tissue injuries, the affected area should first be immobilized with a cast for a period of time to restore stability to the damaged soft tissues, along with the use of anti-inflammatory and analgesic medications as adjunctive treatment (e.g., diclofenac). Cold compresses may also be applied initially, combined with oral medications that promote blood circulation, resolve blood stasis, reduce swelling, and relieve pain. During treatment, patients are advised to avoid excessive physical activity, such as playing football, and should allow for gradual recovery.
