What to do about pharyngitis and enlarged tonsils
Disease description:
Tonsillitis caused by pharyngitis has led to some swelling. What should be done about pharyngitis and enlarged tonsils?
Tonsillitis with enlarged tonsils is usually treated primarily by surgical removal. In cases of acute exacerbation of chronic tonsillitis, anti-inflammatory and antiviral treatments are required. From 3 to 14 days after surgery, patients can use an active silver ion mouthwash to rinse the mouth, which helps prevent infection and promotes healing of the surgical wound. Postoperative diet should be清淡 (light and bland). Besides avoiding chili peppers, patients should also minimize intake of irritating foods such as raw garlic and ginger, as well as overly greasy foods.
