What should be done for thickened endometrium with persistent bleeding?
Disease description:
In recent years, I've experienced thickening of the uterine lining, and now I'm having vaginal bleeding. I'd like to know what to do if endometrial thickening causes prolonged or uncontrollable bleeding.
Persistent uterine bleeding due to thickened endometrium is generally caused by endocrine disorders. When the endometrium is continuously exposed to unopposed estrogen stimulation without progesterone counterbalance, this condition can occur. Repeat an ultrasound examination after your next menstrual period ends. You may resume taking oral medroxyprogesterone tablets to induce regular withdrawal bleeding; some medications might no longer be necessary. Another ultrasound can be performed after your next menstruation begins.
