Persistent uterine bleeding due to thickened endometrium is generally caused by endocrine disorders. When the endometrium is continuously exposed to unopposed estrogen stimulation without progesterone counterbalance, this condition can occur. Repeat an ultrasound examination after your next menstrual period ends. You may resume taking oral medroxyprogesterone tablets to induce regular withdrawal bleeding; some medications might no longer be necessary. Another ultrasound can be performed after your next menstruation begins.
