What to do about gastrointestinal bleeding
Disease description:
I noticed my stool was black, and after going to the hospital, I was diagnosed with gastrointestinal bleeding. Could you please advise what should I do about gastrointestinal bleeding?
Gastrointestinal bleeding can be treated with gastroscopy, which allows visualization of the exact bleeding site, followed by hemostasis using methods such as electrocoagulation, clipping, or injection of a sclerosing agent. Alternatively, patients may choose angiography, through which sclerosing agents and coil embolization can be used to achieve localized bleeding control. When gastrointestinal bleeding is suspected, it is recommended to promptly go to the hospital for relevant examinations and, based on the results, select the appropriate treatment method.
