Postoperative Care Instructions for High Zygomatic Reduction and Osteotomy Surgery
Disease description:
My cheekbones are somewhat high, making me look particularly unattractive. I would like to undergo osteotomy and bone grinding surgery to reduce the prominence of my cheekbones. What are the postoperative care instructions after cheekbone reduction surgery?
After high zygomatic reduction and osteotomy surgery, the area may be gently compressed with thick gauze pads for 2–3 days. Additionally, medications to reduce swelling may be taken as directed by the physician. Antibiotics may also be used postoperatively as recommended by the doctor to prevent infection. It is important to keep the nasal passages clean and unobstructed and maintain good oral hygiene. Minor subconjunctival hemorrhage may occur after surgery; this typically resolves spontaneously within about two weeks and does not require special treatment.
