Mammaplasty for breast reduction is an umbrella term referring to a broad category of surgical procedures, generally corresponding to what plastic surgery describes as breast reduction. This type of surgery primarily targets patients with congenital macromastia or those experiencing breast ptosis (sagging) due to lactation and repeated pregnancies. The main goals of the procedure are to reduce breast volume and/or reposition sagging breasts through a lifting technique, restoring them to a more normal, aesthetically pleasing position. Collectively, these procedures are known as breast reduction mammaplasty.
