Yawning with a sensation of noise in the eardrum may be a normal physiological phenomenon. During yawning, changes in pressure between the inside and outside of the body cause the Eustachian tube to briefly open for regulation, allowing gas exchange between the middle ear and nasal cavity, which can lead to the above symptoms. It could also be caused by pathological factors, such as inflammation of the Eustachian tube or otitis media. In such cases, similar symptoms may occur during yawning, possibly accompanied by nasal congestion, headache, hearing impairment, and other symptoms.
