What are the main reasons for uncomfortable legs that make it difficult to sleep?
Disease description:
Recently, my lower leg has been particularly uncomfortable, sometimes so severely that I can't even sleep. What could be causing this?
Leg discomfort that interferes with sleep may be caused by lumbar disc herniation. When a lumbar disc protrudes, it can compress nearby nerves and blood vessels, leading to numbness, pain, and other symptoms in the lower leg, resulting in discomfort severe enough to disrupt sleep. Restless legs syndrome can also cause sensations of tingling, swelling, and numbness in the lower legs, contributing to this condition. Additionally, rheumatic diseases may lead to stiffness and pain in the limbs, producing similar symptoms.
