Can a thoracic vertebral hemangioma heal on its own?
Disease description:
Recently, I've been feeling a bit of chest tightness. After getting a chest X-ray, I found out that I have a hemangioma on my thoracic vertebra. I would like to ask, can a thoracic vertebral hemangioma heal on its own?
The likelihood of spontaneous regression of a thoracic vertebral hemangioma is extremely low. A thoracic vertebral hemangioma is a benign tumor that develops in the thoracic spine. As the tumor gradually enlarges, it exerts significant pressure on surrounding tissues, nerves, and adjacent organs, leading to a range of symptoms. Regardless of the location of the hemangioma in the body, its growth will progressively damage surrounding tissues; therefore, it does not resolve spontaneously.
