Bu Zhong Yi Qi Wan is generally not used to treat excessive liver fire. This formula functions to tonify the middle and strengthen qi, as well as to lift yang and correct prolapse, and is commonly used for conditions such as spleen and stomach deficiency, diarrhea, and related symptoms. Excessive liver fire is mostly caused by deficiency of liver yin with ascending fire. Under medical guidance, patients may take traditional Chinese patent medicines such as Long Dan Xie Gan Wan, Qi Ju Di Huang Wan, or Zhi Bai Di Huang Wan, which nourish yin and reduce internal fire, for proper regulation.
