It is normal for redness to appear after gua sha or cupping therapy. Clinically, gua sha and cupping promote blood circulation and help relieve fascial and muscular pain. During the procedure, subcutaneous capillaries may rupture, causing the skin to turn red. Generally, the deeper the color, the more severe the patient's condition.
