When I went for a medical checkup yesterday, the doctor told me I had fluid accumulation in my pelvic cavity. I'm quite curious and would like to know what causes pelvic fluid accumulation?

Pelvic fluid accumulation may occur during the ovulation period, when follicular rupture leads to the release of follicular fluid into the pelvic cavity. Additionally, in cases of acute pelvic inflammatory disease, bacteria can invade the fallopian tubes, ovaries, endometrium, and pelvic connective tissues. This results in inflammatory exudates accumulating in the pelvic cavity, causing pelvic fluid collection and potentially leading to the formation of a pelvic abscess.
