Menopause has arrived—I haven't had a period since last year, but today I noticed a little bleeding. Is it normal to have bleeding after one year of no menstruation during menopause?

Vaginal bleeding that occurs one year after menopause is an abnormal phenomenon. Vaginal bleeding appearing more than one year after menopause is called postmenopausal hemorrhage. Some women may mistakenly believe it is a return of their menstrual period and thus do not take it seriously or seek medical evaluation. In some cases, women may experience vaginal bleeding one to two years after menopause due to the ovaries not having completely atrophied yet. However, it is particularly important to note that postmenopausal bleeding is often caused by organic (structural) abnormalities.
