Where to perform gua sha for sore throat discomfort
Disease description:
Gua Sha is a common physical therapy in traditional Chinese medicine, and it works very well for many of my minor ailments. Where should I perform Gua Sha if I have a sore throat?
When treating sore throat with gua sha, the head, neck, and upper limbs are typically targeted. For relieving throat pain, gua sha is commonly applied to acupoints such as Dazhui (GV14) on the Governor Vessel, and bilateral Dabai (BL11) on the Bladder Meridian, which can effectively alleviate throat discomfort. Scraping these areas promotes blood circulation and has a beneficial effect on reducing inflammation and clearing internal heat.
