Why do I get nosebleeds when exposed to sunlight?
Disease description:
Why do I keep having nosebleeds these days when sunbathing on the balcony? What causes nosebleeds specifically when exposed to sunlight?
Nosebleeds upon sun exposure are usually caused by dryness or excessive internal heat ("fire"). Rapid dehydration in sunlight can lead to dry nasal mucosa, resulting in mucosal erosion and bleeding. Additionally, the body's inherent heatiness may make it prone to "fire," and sun exposure can cause dilation of blood vessels in the nasal cavity. If you frequently experience nosebleeds after being in the sun, it is recommended to promptly visit an ear, nose, and throat (ENT) specialist at a hospital.
