Numbness in the legs and feet, similar to an electric shock sensation, may be caused by sciatic nerve damage or other reasons. The pain typically radiates from the lower back and buttocks down the back of the thigh, the outer posterior side of the lower leg, to the outer side of the foot. It usually presents as persistent dull or numb pain that intermittently worsens, and may also manifest as sharp, stabbing, cutting, or burning pain. Symptoms often intensify when walking or stretching the sciatic nerve. It is recommended to visit a hospital for examinations such as X-ray or MRI. In daily life, keep warm and avoid exposure to cold and drafts. Maintain a diet low in sugar, salt, and fat.
