How often should patients with vocal polyps undergo follow-up examinations during conservative treatment?
Disease description:
Recently, I noticed something unusual with my throat. At first, it was just a bit itchy. I'd like to know how often I should have follow-up checkups for conservative treatment of vocal cord polyps.
Patients can have their first follow-up visit 1 to 3 months after conservative treatment surgery for vocal cord polyps. A second follow-up visit may be scheduled at around six months post-surgery. Immediately after surgery, the voice may be hoarse; therefore, patients should minimize talking and avoid speaking loudly. In addition to taking prescribed medications as directed by the physician, patients who have undergone surgery for vocal cord polyps need regular hospital check-ups to monitor their recovery progress.
