How is vocal cord polyps in children diagnosed?
Disease description:
The child has recently developed hoarseness, and a vocal cord polyp is suspected. How is a pediatric vocal cord polyp diagnosed?
Laryngoscopy is required to confirm the diagnosis of vocal cord polyps in children. In early stages, nebulized corticosteroid preparations may be used. If the condition is more severe, surgical removal of the polyp is necessary. Some patients are highly sensitive and may experience nausea and vomiting. However, in some cases, polyps on the vocal cords cannot be definitively diagnosed by direct observation alone.
