An external auditory canal furuncle can rupture. As the furuncle grows within the ear canal, it may cause severe pain, obstruction, tinnitus, and reduced hearing. With further swelling, ulceration may occur, accompanied by discharge of pus and blood. During treatment, patients must avoid spicy and irritating foods, maintain a light diet, and drink plenty of water.
