How to differentiate sublingual gland inflammation from sublingual gland cyst?
Disease description:
I have a lump on my tongue, and I'm very concerned it might be caused by a sublingual gland cyst. How can sublingual gland inflammation and sublingual gland cyst be differentiated?
The difference between sublingual gland inflammation and sublingual cyst lies in their symptoms. Sublingual gland inflammation may cause swelling in the sublingual area, accompanied by local swelling, pain, nausea, and vomiting. A sublingual cyst results in a localized lump, sometimes with discharge of clear fluid, and may also be associated with pain.
