Disease description:

Today during my gynecological examination, the doctor said my cervix bled upon contact. I don't know much about this and would like to ask what might be causing it and whether it's serious.

Bleeding upon contact with the cervix may indicate cervical inflammation, in which inflammatory damage causes redness and swelling of the cervix, along with edema of the cervical mucosa, making it prone to bleeding after contact. It could also be due to cervical polyps, which typically have a fragile texture and rich blood supply, thus easily bleeding when touched.
