Qi deficiency usually accelerates tumor growth. Tumors are localized masses caused by abnormal proliferation of body cells, and can be either benign or malignant. Tumor development may be related to genetic factors as well as an individual's physical constitution. If a patient has symptoms of qi deficiency, the body's immunity may decline; decreased immunity could in turn accelerate the proliferation of abnormal cells, promoting tumor growth.
