During this period, I might have caught a cold due to being chilled. This morning, I just went to the clinic for gua sha and cupping therapy. I want to take a shower now, so I'm wondering whether it's okay to bathe after receiving gua sha and cupping for a cold.

After receiving gua sha or cupping therapy during a cold, it is generally not recommended to take a bath immediately. These two treatments can cause certain skin irritation and minor damage, weakening the skin's protective barrier. Bathing right away may intensify skin discomfort and increase the risk of bacterial invasion into the compromised skin, potentially leading to infection and delaying the healing process. Additionally, if proper warmth is not maintained during bathing, it may allow cold pathogens to enter the body, worsening cold symptoms and impairing treatment effectiveness. To ensure healthy skin recovery and effective management of the cold, it is advisable to wait some time after gua sha or cupping—until the skin has fully recovered—before taking a bath, and to ensure adequate warmth is maintained throughout.
