Signs and Risks of Psychological Precocity in Girls
Disease description:
My daughter is ten years old and has already started menstruating. I took her to the hospital for a checkup, and the doctor said she has psychological precocity. What are the signs and risks of psychological precocity in girls?
Psychological precocity in girls is also a manifestation of precocious puberty, primarily characterized by breast development—often accompanied by tenderness—as well as external genital development, increased vaginal discharge, growth of pubic hair, and the onset of menstruation. Girls with precocious puberty are prone to premature closure of the epiphyseal growth plates, resulting in shorter stature compared to normally developing children. It can also cause endocrine hormone imbalances, leading to impaired physical development.
