Children and adolescents may fail to grow properly due to long-term irregular sleep patterns, which lead to severe sleep deprivation and reduced secretion of growth hormone in the body. This phenomenon can also occur in children who consistently consume high-fat, high-sugar, high-calorie foods—resulting in significant weight gain—or those who lack physical activity. Additionally, children with medical conditions such as hypothyroidism or dwarfism are also prone to stunted growth.
