Dr. Zhang Heyang
Early symptoms of acute leukemia may include anemia. Bleeding is another common early manifestation, occurring in more than half of patients. The severity varies and bleeding can occur in any part of the body, presenting as petechiae, ecchymoses, epistaxis, gingival bleeding, menorrhagia, retinal hemorrhage, etc. Fever may also be an early sign in leukemia patients; infections due to granulocytopenia and fever caused directly by the leukemia itself are both possible. Leukemic cell infiltration can lead to lymphadenopathy and hepatosplenomegaly, bone and joint pain, skin and mucosal lesions, and central nervous system leukemia.
