Difference between monocytes and lymphocytes

Lymphocytes: They are the smallest type of white blood cells. Monocytes: They are the largest blood cells in circulation and the largest type of white blood cells. Lymphocytes: Produced by lymphoid organs, they primarily exist in lymph that circulates through the lymphatic system. Monocytes: Derived from hematopoietic stem cells produced and developed in the bone marrow. Lymphocytes: Mainly involved in immune responses, such as clearing and destroying waste, viruses, bacteria, and other pathogens in the body. Monocytes: After phagocytizing antigens, they transfer antigenic epitopes to lymphocytes, thereby inducing specific immune responses in lymphocytes.
