What is the difference between primary and secondary leukemia?
Disease description:
Fatigue, palpitations, dizziness, and shortness of breath. Skin petechiae, ecchymoses, gingival bleeding, oral blood blisters, and epistaxis may also occur; hematuria and bloody stools are less common.
Primary plasma cell leukemia and secondary plasma cell leukemia are quite different. Specifically, primary plasma cell leukemia (PPCL) is an independent type of leukemia with clinical manifestations similar to those of acute leukemia. Most cases of secondary plasma cell leukemia arise from multiple myeloma (MM), and its clinical and pathological features closely resemble those of MM, representing the terminal stage of MM.
