How to wash eyes with acute conjunctivitis
Disease description:
Excessive eye discharge, sometimes causing the eyes to be stuck shut upon waking up. How should I clean my eyes?
Patients with acute conjunctivitis can generally rinse their eyes using normal saline or boric acid solution. In most cases, due to inflammatory irritation, patients with acute conjunctivitis produce excessive eye secretions that are sticky in consistency, causing significant discomfort. Under medical guidance, patients may use normal saline (or 2% boric acid solution) to flush the conjunctival sac to relieve ocular discomfort. The temperature of the irrigation solution should not be too low or too high; it should be close to room temperature. It is recommended that patients with conjunctivitis seek timely medical evaluation to assess the condition and follow medical advice for proper treatment.
