Keratitis and dacryoadenitis
Disease description:
I've been feeling uncomfortable in my eyes lately, with a sore and gritty sensation, and I've noticed increased eye discharge compared to before. Could you please tell me what the symptoms of keratitis and dacryoadenitis are?
Symptoms of keratitis typically include a foreign body sensation, photophobia, tearing, blurred vision, dark circles in front of the eyes, eye pain, dry eyes, eye discharge, and red eyes. Keratitis can be classified into bacterial keratitis, viral keratitis, fungal keratitis, allergic keratitis, and nutritional keratitis. It can also be categorized based on the affected layer, such as superficial keratitis, stromal keratitis, and endothelial keratitis. Dacryoadenitis can be divided into acute and chronic forms depending on the disease course. Typical symptoms of acute dacryoadenitis include pain, redness, and tearing in the lacrimal gland area. The main symptoms of chronic dacryoadenitis are a lump in the outer upper eyelid and diplopia.
