Treatment primarily focuses on behavioral correction, and parents should cooperate with doctors to help children improve self-control, without becoming impatient. Children should not be scolded or punished; instead, they should be gradually guided and patiently persuaded. Congenital entropion and trichiasis: In some children, a congenital inward folding of the eyelid (medically termed entropion) causes the eyelashes to rub against the surface of the eyeball, irritating the cornea (the clear front surface of the eye) and leading to tearing. Tics refer to sudden, involuntary contractions of specific body parts in children, such as eye blinking, facial grimacing, mouth twitching, shoulder shrugging, etc., which can result in inattention and changes in hyperactive behaviors. Some children may also produce unusual sounds, utter obscenities, or use foul language. This condition is medically known as Tourette syndrome, or pediatric tic disorder with coprolalia.
