Causes of posterior scapular pain include diseases intrinsic to the scapula itself. Pain may occur when there are metastatic tumors or tuberculosis affecting the scapula. In such cases, a CT scan of the scapula should be performed for early diagnosis and treatment. If the pain is located in the left scapular region, radiating pain due to myocardial infarction or angina pectoris should be considered. Diagnosis in these cases should be made using tests such as color Doppler ultrasound, angiography, and electromyography.
