Early symptoms of vulvar leukoplakia with malignant changes include vulvar itching, pain during sexual intercourse, and fissures in the skin and mucous membranes. If such lesions occur, an HPV test can be performed. Vulvar leukoplakia, medically known as vulvar dystrophy, may present in some patients with lichenoid changes, leading to atrophy and vaginal stenosis in advanced stages. Some patients may also experience loss of appetite and weight loss.
