Dr. Guan Yanlei
Pituitary tumors are generally associated with genetic factors and changes in endocrine factors. The pituitary gland is located 5 cm behind the forehead, at the base of the brain, and consists of the neurohypophysis and adenohypophysis, which are responsible for hormone secretion and endocrine regulation. Pituitary tumors develop in the pituitary gland, primarily due to excessive proliferation and enlargement of adenohypophyseal cells, leading to endocrine disturbances and compression of surrounding nerves.
