The differences between toxic encephalitis and viral encephalitis include symptoms and causes. Toxic encephalitis is primarily caused by toxins invading the brain, leading to damage of brain cells; viral encephalitis is mainly caused by viruses such as enteroviruses. The main manifestations of toxic encephalitis include impaired consciousness, vomiting, restlessness and delirium, coma, seizures, increased intracranial pressure, and neurological lesions. Viral encephalitis presents with neurological abnormalities such as fever, vomiting, irritability, drowsiness, and convulsions.
