Why are contractions poor and what does it mean?
Disease description:
I'm five months pregnant and went to the hospital for a prenatal checkup. The doctor said there's some issue with uterine contractions—what does it mean by "not good" contractions, and why does this happen?
Poor uterine contractions are generally caused by factors such as abnormal fetal position, psychological factors, and uterine conditions. Symptoms of inadequate contractions are usually not very obvious and may be related to abnormal fetal position or poor fetal head-pelvis relationship, a condition clinically known as cephalopelvic disproportion. During pregnancy, excessive mental tension or extreme fear of childbirth, combined with significant physical changes, can cause severe discomfort. Additionally, psychological stress in women can also lead to impaired uterine contractions.
