What causes placental abruption?
Disease description:
During delivery, placental abruption occurred. I would like to know, what causes placental abruption?
Placental abruption is generally caused by factors such as abdominal trauma or premature rupture of membranes. During pregnancy, if the abdomen suffers an impact, it may lead to rupture and bleeding of the blood vessels in the basal decidua, resulting in placental abruption. Therefore, pregnant women should avoid crowded places as much as possible and prevent abdominal compression during travel. Placental abruption may also be triggered by premature rupture of membranes. Once the membranes rupture prematurely, amniotic fluid can rapidly leak out, increasing pressure on the placenta while reducing uterine cavity volume. This may cause displacement and separation of the placenta from the uterine wall, damaging small blood vessels and leading to hemorrhage.
