Placenta previa is relatively uncommon in pregnant women. It is a major cause of severe bleeding in late pregnancy and a common complication during gestation; improper management can pose a threat to fetal health. Placenta previa typically occurs on the posterior, anterior, or lateral walls of the uterus. When the placenta attaches to the lower part of the uterus, its lower edge reaches or covers the internal cervical os, positioning the placenta lower than the presenting part of the fetus.
